Fluoresce
Fluoresce
$12.00
The title “Flouresce” means to glow, as with fluorescent light. The production of fluorescent light has to do with electrons being elevated to a higher level of excitement to the point of instability and releasing light as a result in order to stabilize themselves. The music of Fluoresce is meant to emulate this idea by growing in intensity from beginning to end. To accomplish this, the piece gradually changes keys, almost imperceptibly, rising by a perfect fourth each time (like the four lowest strings of the guitar) from E minor, to A minor, to D minor, and ending in G minor, on a ‘higher level’ than where it began. This singular movement was written for Guitar Quartet or larger ensemble. Ten page score with three page parts, intermediate difficulty.
