Born in Elets (Russia), Sergey Uryupin began studying guitar at the age of 9. He graduated from the Voronezh Arts Academy where he studied with professor Sergei Kordenko and then continued his studies with professor Nikolay Komolyatov at the Gnessin Music Academy (postgraduate). He is the winner of 8 international guitar competitions such as Krinica guitar Competition (Poland, 1999), GuitarArt (Serbia, 2000), Guitar in Russia (Russia, 2002), Krakow guitar competition, (Poland, 2003), Ile de Re guitar competition (France, 2003), Kyiv guitar competition (Ukraine, 2009).

Sergey has performed solo programs in Russia, France, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus and Venezuela. In addition, he has collaborated and performed with symphonic orchestras and ensembles. Similarly, Sergey has taught at Elets College of Arts 2002-2007;;Voronezh College of Music 2007-2008; Voronezh State Academy of Arts 2007-2008; State and private music schools in Moscow 2008-2022 Moscow College of Arts in Khimki 2021-2022 and International boarding school Letovo, Arts Department 2018-2022
