The Art Songs of Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel

While few of Fanny’s 450-plus works were publicly performed, she composed consistently during her short life. One of her favorite forms was lieder, of which she composed over 250 works, using texts by Goethe, Lenau, and some by Hensel herself.In this volume we have arranged “Sechs Lieder, Op. 7” with guitar accompaniment. There are many challenges in rendering a piano score for the guitar. Here we have tried to capture the intent of Hensel’s, while keeping the arrangements playable by the intermediate/advanced player.
