Keenesiology
$18.00
This composition for four guitars was written in 2015 for a concert that was part of the Keene Valley Guitarist/Composer Workshop, which took place in the Adirondack Mountains in New York State.
The texture of this music is mainly conversational, employing a 13th century European compositional technique called hocket. This technique creates a panning effect across the stage as the melodic lines are traded between the musicians. The cross-string ostinato, which makes its entrance in m. 16, is borrowed from an earlier solo guitar composition of mine entitled Uraca.
