Dragonfly

The flight of a dragonfly can be mesmerizing to watch. An exquisite aerial hunter, it will swiftly dart up or down, gracefully hover above a body of water, and soar in both smooth and angular pathways. It is elusive, beautiful, and agile. While composing this piece, I felt that the music somehow alluded to those characteristics of the dragonfly, and to the nature of the environment that it commonly inhabits. It was composed in the summer of 2022, on the shores of Lake Ontario.
