Street Song

“One of my hobbies is playing jazz piano and trying to emulate the interpretations of the great players, as I have done since my teen-age years. Although that jazz influence can maybe be detected in my more contemporary classical style, I’ve never until recently tried to combine the two harmonic styles. Street Song is one of two pieces in this blended style, which I have much enjoyed writing. The title refers the listener to the cello solo voice and its wayward bent and singing a “bluesy” lament on occasion. I hope you enjoy it.” ~ Owen Middleton
